3. Discuss colloquialism in general
4. Discuss possible topics we can think of that relates to cultural interpretation.
Frits main idea ‘Colloquialism‘:
- Language :The way that one culture perceives another; whether that be accepting, apprehensive, humourous ; Slang/colloquialism; how slang is invented from the surrounding landscape or local culture; and how other cultures may not understand this because it is completely removed from their environment
- Music: How Eurovision is taken seriously in Europe, but is laughed at in Australia (by a majority)
- Fashion: How fashion in the 80’s is in many ways laughed at today (the ‘mullet’ hairsyle, etc)
Next meeting plan: Each one of us do some scoping that relates to the project and collate each of them into one
